Keith Thurman is so certain of victory against Manny Pacquiao on July 20 that the unbeaten American placed a $10,000 bet that he will win by knockout in the first two rounds.
According to TMZ Sports, Thurman insists that he will not be in any way will resemble Adrien Broner, who Pacquiao easily beat up last January.
“I’m younger. I’m gonna let my hands go in a way that Adrian Broner didn’t. I’m gonna make it a fight,” said the 30-year-old Thurman, slightly favored according to oddsmakers.
The hefty $10,000 wager will only pump up Thurman to perform better against Pacquiao in their scheduled 12-rounder at the MGM Grand.
“That’s motivation! I can’t go 3 minutes going ‘tap, tap, tap’ when I got $10k on the round!”
Thurman is getting himself ripped and ready in Tampa Bay in Florida and promises to put an end to the Filipino star’s legendary career.
Pacquiao, on the other hand, is also whipping himself into form under the watchful eyes of Freddie Roach in Hollywood.
The winner of the Pacquiao-Thurman showdown will earn him a bigger paycheck since Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) has the other big-named welters on its stable.
Also fighting under Al Haymon’s PBC banner are Errol Spence and Shawn Porter.
