An estimated P3.4-million worth of suspected shabu were seized from four women by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in a buy-bust operation in a fastfood restaurant in Quiapo, Manila the other day.
The PDEA identified the suspects as Anisa Pacalna Sambolayang, Aisah Masandag Panontongan, Akisah Bayantol Topaan, and Monacaya Ambor Angodot.
PDEA Special Enforcement Service team leader Jonar Cuayzon said the operation was conducted after two weeks of intense surveillance on the suspects.
A poseur-buyer managed to purchase shabu from the suspects leading to their arrest.
Cuayzon said PDEA is probing the extent of the suspects’ involvement in the illegal drugs trade.
The suspects were arrested by the PDEA Regional Office-National Capital Region, Manila Police District Barbosa Police Community Precinct, and PDEA Special Enforcement Service on R. Hidalgo and Barbosa Streets.
Seized from them were 500 grams of shabu valued at P3.4 million, a cellphone, a sling bag, and marked money amounting to P900,000.
The seized illegal drugs were brought to the PDEA Laboratory Service for examination.
Charges for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being 35prepared against the suspects. (Chito Chavez)
