Team Brownlee of Cavite and Team Mariano of Pampanga completed the cast of champions for the 2019 PBA Ginebra San Miguel 3×3 Tapang ng Tatluhan last Saturday.
Team Brownlee, composed of Janno Baronda, Roberto Sayawan, Rudy Onde, and Darrel Babica, did just enough to stave off Team Dela Cruz, 20-19 in the West GMA Finals in Brgy. Fatima 2, Dasmarinas, Cavite.
Team Mariano, comprised of Ron Jabez Canlas, Mark Adrian Mallari, Gabriel Rivera Baluyot, and James Allen Dela Pena, escaped a game challenge from Team Caperal, 19-18, to win the North Luzon Central regionals in Brgy. Pulung Bulu, Angeles, Pampanga.
Also booking their slots in the Nationals are Team R. Aguilar/TSU, composed of Lorenzo Bautista, Jeffrey Pamintuan, Renz Capulong, and Ferdinand del Prado, ruling the North Luzon West Central regionals with a 21-10 win over Team Brownlee ECP at Brgy. Maliwalo, Tarlac City; Team Caperal, made up of Jude Almocera, Raffy Gravador, Christian Jake Imus, and Raul Martin Ramos, edging Team Mariano, 16-15, in the Eastern Visayas regionals at the City Engineer’s Office Gym in Tacloban City; Team R. Aguilar, comprised of Jayson Apolonio, Ian Rhalf Llona, Ervin Jay Silverie, and Christian Corpuz, notching a 21-15 win over Team Caguioa in the North Luzon West Central regionals in Brgy. Caranglaan, Dagupan City.
Team Mariano/Sabello, composed of Felipe Chavez Jr., Mark Justine Leal, Ivan Miguel Cuyong, and Viel Angelo Tumalon, blasting Team Cruz, 21-11 to win the East GMA regionals in Brgy. Libis, Ynares Plaza, Binangonan, Rizal; Team Slaughter, made up of R-Jay Ramirez, Paul Dela Cruz, Benner Salamat, and John Kenneth Reyes, beating Team J. Aguilar, 16-9, in the North Luzon Central regionals in Brgy. Silangan, Bataan; and Team Thompson, bannered by Navin Magnaye, Keith Ryann Altarejos, Von Jasper Moren, and Justin Magnaye, drubbing Team Chan, 19-11, in the South Luzon West regionals at Lipa City Cultural Center in Lipa City, Batangas.
All 16 champion squads will now progress to the Regional Finals on Friday at Robinsons Place Manila, with the championship game set on Sunday at Smart Araneta Coliseum during the halftime of the Manila Clasico showdown between Ginebra and Magnolia.
