Kaya-Iloilo’s streak of five straight wins to start the season was halted after being held to a goalless draw by Green Archers United in the Philippines Football League held last Saturday at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.
Despite taking control of ball possession throughout the 90-minute match, Kaya was left ruing the missed opportunity of extending its winning run as it split the point with Green Archers.
Green Archers thus tied Stallion-Laguna for fourth with 11 points apiece.
Iloilo remains on top of the table with 16 points through six matches, three clear of defending two-time champion Ceres-Negros.
Ceres was supposed to play host Stallion at the Binan Football Stadium last Saturday but was cancelled after the pitch was deemed unplayable due to the heavy downpour.
Meanwhile, newcomer Mendiola finally scored its first victory after defeating Air Force, 3-1, Sunday in Binan.
Hamed Hajimahdi, Allen Angeles and Jim Flores scored as the Lions overtook idle Global-Makati for fifth place with four points in six games.
