Manila Mayor Francisco Isko Moreno Domagoso ordered Wednesday the relief of the station commander of the Lawton Police Precinct after mounds of human feces and smelly urine greeted him during his inspection of Gat Andres Bonifacio Shrine, which is just a stone’s throw away from the Manila City Hall.
Domagoso immediately called up and asked Manila Police District (MPD) Director Vicente Danao, Jr. to relieve the Lawton Police Community Precinct commander, Lt. Rowel Robles.
“Oh, sige. Ipa-relieve niyo na ‘yung police diyan sa Lawton. Di ba presinto ito ng Lawton? Oh, relieve na siya. Sabihan niyo na si General Danao,” Moreno said on Facebook live.
The mayor even accidentally stepped on human waste as he was conducting an inspection around the monument.
Domagoso said that around 100 human fecal matters were found around heritage site.
“Oh ayan nakaapak na nga ako e. Sino swerte? Yayaman! Oh ayan tae! Swerte raw yan, magkakapera ako,” he said.
He pointed out that the monument, built in honor of the famed revolutionary hero Andres Bonifacio, is just a few steps away from the office of the city mayor.
Domagoso said that the massive monument could be seen from his office window and could not understand why it was neglected and allowed to be desecrated for six long years.
He directed Kenneth Amurao, chief of the department of public services, to have the two areas thoroughly cleaned and rid of foul smell. (Erma Edera)
