The Triple Crown Series goes back to MetroTurf Racing Complex with a bang as the fierce rivalry among the best 3-year-olds in the land will be showcased in the third and final leg on July 21.
Seven exciting runners are nominated for the 2,000-meter race that features winners of the first two legs – Real Gold of the C & H Enterprise in the first and Boss Emong of Edong Diokno in the second.
The five others vying for the top prize of R1.8-million are SC Stockfarm’s Jayz; Melanie Habla’s Shanghai Grey; Moises Villasenor’s My Jopay; Renato Virata’s My Dad Bogart; and Johnny Tionloc’s Sir Joaquin.
The classic distance by which this leg will be disputed will be the main problem to be dealt with by the participants.
The fast-stepping Boss Emong must double-up with his effort to win here and duplicate his scintillating victory in the second leg. Definitely, the other challengers would not want the Ernesto Roxas-trained colt to dictate the pace up to the final canto of this long and ardous race.
First-leg winner Real Gold, on the other hand, need not waste time at the back of the pack although this is a long race. A big and swift rally before the last bend for home can do wonder for this colt being saddled by Rey Henson.
