President Duterte, a former prosecutor, may soon get back into teaching.
If he can find time in his workload, the President said he is willing to give a lecture on criminal law in a law school in Davao City.
Duterte, speaking at the television program of his friend evangelist Apollo Quiboloy early yesterday morning, advised law students to listen to his lecture and memorize the Revised Penal Code.
“I give special lectures but criminal law lang ako…that’s why perhaps I am a criminal already,” Duterte said, drawing laughter from the audience.
“I will have time to go around but I’d limit myself to criminal law because it’s not really a forte but it’s where I study more often,” he said when a law student asked if he was willing to be a guest lecturer at the Jose Maria College College of Law founded by Quiboloy.
Duterte said he used teach at the police academy years ago but stopped when he became mayor of Davao City.
Quiboloy told the audience that Duterte actually agreed to be a guest lecturer at the law school. “I just talked to him before you asked that question and he agreed to go and spend like 30 minutes to lecture in the JMC College of Law,” the pastor said.
Duterte, a criminal lawyer, said he would just draw a “matrix” so they could easily understand the law. “It’s all there,” he said. (Genalyn Kabiling)
