ILOILO CITY – The Western Visayas police chief has ordered the filing of criminal and administrative raps against a drunk cop in Iloilo for threatening a superior officer Thursday.
Police Brig. Gen. Rene Pamuspusan ordered the filing of charges against Police Patrolman Joerick Ace Ilisan of the Pototan police.
Ilisan allegedly threatened Police Major Ronnie Brillo, Pototan police chief and his superior, after a drunken rage early Thursday morning.
Ilisan went into a drunken rage after Brillo confronted Ilisan who was caught drinking with Police Corporal Esil Peñarubia in bamboo hut adjacent to the police station.
Brillo, who was not at the police station during the incident as he attended a wake of a dead cop, was physically harassed by Ilisan during the confrontation. The drunken cop became rowdy and even pulled out his gun.
Pamuspusan personally went to the Pototan police station and condemned Ilisan’s actions.
Pamuspusan, who has been the region’s top cop for less than a month, has earlier disclosed that internal cleansing or getting rid of erring cops are one of his top priorities. (Tara Yap)
