Ato Ular and Jeo Ambohot came through with clutch plays as Letran extended its winning streak to three with an 82-80 overtime win over University of Perpetual Help System DALTA in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament yesterday at The Arena in San Juan.
Ular again proved his worth in his return to Letran’s roster with 19 points and 13 rebounds while Ambohot contributed nine points, including a tip in off his own missed shot that gave Letran an 81-80 advantage with 12.4 seconds to play.
Ambohot also shone defensively with13 boards, while Larry Muyang had 10 points and nine boards.
Edson Batiller led all scorers with 22 points as Letran improved to 3-1 while Perpetual Help dropped its second straight game after winning its season-opener versus Mapua.
With 6-foot-4 Ular, the 6-foot-5 Muyang and the 6-foot-6 Ambohot imposing their will inside, the Knights collared 53 rebounds, 20 offensively while the Altas had only 43 boards.
