The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) lauded Manila Mayor Francisco Isko Moreno Domagoso for issuing an executive order (EO) promoting ease of doing business in the city.
“ARTA commends Manila City Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso, for issuing an Executive Order that effectively puts up a Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) within the City of Manila,” the agency said in a statement.
On July 8, Domagoso signed an executive order which seeks to streamline the issuance of local business license, clearances, permits, certification and authorizations, as well as manage the flow of documents in the city.
The anti-red tape agency also urged all local government units (LGUs) to follow the mayor’s example to comply with the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018 or Republic Act No. 11032 which requires every city or municipality to have a BOSS.
“We are therefore calling on all local government units, more especially all local chief executives, to follow the lead of Mayor Isko Moreno and streamline and reengineer their processes and automate their systems in compliance with RA 11032,” it said.
Meanwhile, ARTA also commended Domagoso’s reforms and the ongoing clean-up operations in Manila.
” (It) has ignited a national excitement and spurred imagination on what can be accomplished if leaders would exercise political will and have a genuine concern for the well-being of the people,” the statement added. (Erma Edera)
