The local government of Manila launched Monday morning the “Bagong Maynila Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS)” at the Manila City Hall.
Lawyer Paul Vega, chief of the Manila Business Permits and Licenses Office (BPLO), said that Manilenos now only have to go through three steps in just one window to apply for a business permit.
Vega laid out the three steps: File, Pay and Claim.
As long as business permit applicants file their complete requirements, the BPLO chief said they can get their business permits and licenses in just one day.
The BOSS, Vega said, has seven windows, with one reserved for senior citizens, pregnant women and PWDs. This means it can handle seven transactions simultaneously, he said.
The new one-stop shop was created after Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso signed Executive Order No. 8 which promotes ease of doing business in the city.
Meanwhile, Domagoso and the SM Group will enter into an agreement wherein the activity area of SM City Manila may be used by the Manila City Hall as a satellite branch for the Bagong Maynila BOSS free of charge.
The satellite branch is set to open in January 2020 when businesses are expected to file their applications for renewal or new business permits.
Domagoso, together with Manila City Hall officials, led the opening of the one-stop shop at the ground floor of the Manila City Hall. (Erma Edera)
