Nazareth School of National University started its bid for a back-to-back title with a bang by blasting host team Indonesia, 87-47, in the 2019 ASEAN School Games at the GOR Sahabat in Semarang.
Carl Tamayo fired 20 points in 20 minutes of action while Terrence Fortea chipped in 15 points in 18 minutes for the Bullpups, earned the right to represent the country after retaining their Palaro crown.
The team backed by Freego’s Eduard Tio and Oriental Group of Companies started strong, taking a 29-9 lead, and never looked back.
Harold Alarcon also contributed 10 points and skipper Gerry Abadiano made six points, five assists and three boards.
Up next for Filipino dribbers will be Malaysia, which is coming off a loss to Thailand.
Other participating nations are Brunei and Singapore.
