LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Six people died after an Elf truck plunged into the ravine in the town of Aguinaldo, Ifugao, early yesterday morning, according to an initial report by the Police Regional Office-Cordillera.
Police Major Carol Lacuata, regional information officer, said police and other rescue groups were conducting retrieval operation at the accident area.
She said six victims who died on the spot were retrieved, including the driver of the truck identified as Joey Tambiag.
The report said the victims traveling to Alfonso Lista took a hitch ride at 8 a.m. in Aguinaldo.
The vehicle fell and turned turtle below the 10-meter meter deep ravine at Sitio Montanop, Barangay Chalalo, Aguinaldo, Ifugao.
Two other injured passengers were brought to Potia District Hospital. (Zaldy Comanda)
