Asian Games gold medalist Margielyn Didal boosted her bid for a berth in Tokyo Games after placing fifth in the Street League Skateboarding World Championships in LOS Angeles, California, USA.
Didal totaled 21.7 points in the event ruled by Brazil’s Rayssa Leal, who finished with 23.2 points, followed by compatriot Pamela Rosa with 22.28 points.
The USA’s Alana Smith placed third with 22.5 points while Japan’s Aori Nishimura ended up fourth with 22.1 points.
The event serves as part of the qualifying tournament for the 2020 Tokyo Games.
Skateboarding and Roller Sports Association of the Philippines, Inc. (SRSAPI) president Monty Mendigoria posted on his Facebook the achievement of Didal, who is set to see action in the Southeast Asian Games here this November. (WAYLON GALVEZ)
