MEXICAN fighter Cesar Ramirez is arriving in Manila with one thing in mind.
Ramirez is set to challenge John Riel Casimero for the Filipino’s interim World Boxing Organization bantamweight crown on Aug. 24 at the San Andres Sports Complex in Malate, Manila.
“He comes to win,” said Sean Gibbons, the president of MP Promotions, the Manny Pacquiao-owned outfit.
“The reason why he’s coming in early is a sign he is focused and determined to break the hearts of the hometown fans,” said Gibbons, who represents Casimero, a two-division world champion.
Usually, visiting fighters arrive four or five days before a big fight.
But in the case of Ramirez, he knows what he is up against.
“He wants to get used to the local conditions so he’ll be in great shape by fight night,” added Gibbons.
Casimero is in Davao City but is expected to touch down in Manila Tuesday.
