Creamline guns for a third straight win when it faces BanKo-Perlas Wednesday in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan City.
Match is at 6 p.m. with the Cool Smashers seeking a follow-up to their straight-set victories over the Motolite Power Builders and the Chef’s Classics Lady Red Spikers.
Choco Mucho and Pacifictown Army clash at 2 p.m. with both teams shooting for back-to-back wins after hurdling their opening-game assignments.
The Flying Titans debuted with a 25-12, 25-18, 25-18 triumph over the BaliPure Water Defenders while the Lady Troopers scored a 25-23, 25-23, 17-25, 20-25 win against BaliPure.
Focus, however, will be on Creamline as it intends to retain its title after PetroGazz denied its bid for a second straight title last month.
In their 25-12, 25-5, 25-15 drubbing of Chef’s Classics three days ago, the Cool Smashers registered32 kills, 11 blocks and 10 aces.
So dominant were the Cool Smashers they needed only 60 minutes to seal the win.
Alyssa Valdez is again expected to lead Creamline despite her busy schedule as member of the PH team to the coming SEA Games.
Out to provide additional firepower for the Cool Smashers are Michele Gumabao, Jema Galanza, Jia Morado and Mel Gohing.
While their frontliners look formidable, the Cool Smashers can’t take BanKo-Perlas players for granted.
For one BanKo-Perlas has former La Salle ace Nicole Tiamzon on its fold.
Also expected to deliver the goods for BanKo are Dzi Gervacio, Kathy Bersola and Sue Roces who vowed to give their all to improve their 2-1 mark.
In the other pairing, Choco Mucho’s triple tower in Kat Tolentino, Maddie Madayag and Bea De Leon are expected to fuel the squad both in offense and defense as they go up against Army’s Royse Tubino, Jem Gutierrez and Ging Balse.
The youthful exuberance of Tolentino, Madayag and De Leon will be put to a test when they face Tubino, Gutierrez and Balse who are all grizzled veterans.
Meanwhile, BaliPure and Air Force hope to recover from back-to-back defeats when they battle at 4 p.m.
