Two Chinese nationals were arrested by the police early yesterday morning for speeding through a checkpoint in Binondo, Manila.
The suspects were identified as Cai Fang Bin and Man-Man Chen.
Manila Police District Station 11 commander Police Lt. Col. Noel Aliño said Cai was drunk while driving a vehicle, while his companion, Man-Man, allegedly “disrespected” and resisted arresting police officers.
“Mabilis po magpatakbo at paso na ang registration ng sasakyan niya,” Aliño said, referring to Cai.
Aliño also learned that Cai was driving without a driver’s license.
“To the rescue naman po ‘yung isa at nambubully pa po sa aming mga pulis. Inaresto po namin para malaman nila na bawal na po ang pasaway at hindi sumusunod sa batas sa Maynila,” he added.
Cai is now facing charges of violating Section 56 (D, E, and F) of Republic Act 4136 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code.
Man-man was charged with Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code or the resistance and disobedience to a person in authority or the agents of such person, as well as interfering with police duties. (Hanah Tabios)
