BACOLOD CITY – A suspected drug pusher turned out to be a high value target after a buy-bust in Barangay 6 led to the seizure of 100 grams of shabu worth P900,000 Tuesday night.
Joint operatives of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) and Police Station 2 conducted the operation against Joel Beate, 39, of the said village.
Police recovered from him seven sachets of suspected shabu, and the P500 marked money.
Police Capt. Leo Estopa, head of Police Station 2, said Beate can be considered a high value target because of the big volume of drugs recovered from him which is more than 50 grams.
He is unemployed and yet he was able to possess such big volume of drugs, he added.
Estopa said Beate is under the drugs watchlist of Police Station 2.
He said Beate does not just distribute in one village here but also supplies other barangays and probably even outside the city.
He said the suspect probably sourced out his drugs from a drug group.
Beate, who is detained at Police Station 2, will be charged with sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs. (Glazyl Masculino)
