National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents arrested an Egyptian who tried to extort money and a car from a woman in exchange for not uploading their sex videos on Facebook.
NBI Deputy Director Vicente de Guzman III said Egyptian Amr Sayed Azab was apprehended by agents of the NBI’s Anti-Organized and Transnational Crime Division (NBI-AOTCD) during an entrapment operation in Malate, Manila, last Tuesday.
Azab was brought for inquest before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office for robbery/extortion and for violating Republic Act 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act).
De Guzman said Azab was arrested based on the complaint of his victim who recounted that she and the suspect started a romantic relationship in March 2017.
But the following month, she said the suspect threatened to expose their relationship to her family.
Just last July, the victim met again and, while under the influence of illegal drugs forced on her by the suspect, Azab recorded their sexual acts with a hidden camera.
The suspect threatened to release the video on Facebook if she does not comply with his demands including a car, laptop and P3,000.
Because of the threats, the victim sought the help of the NBI which led to the arrest of the suspect. (Jeffrey Damicog)
