Creamline tries to sustain its surge when it battles Pacifictown Army Wednesday in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan City.
The Cool Smashers eye their seventh straight victory to keep their record unblemished in their 4 p.m. tussle with the Lady Troopers.
PetroGazz, meanwhile, tries to notch its fourth win in six matches when it collides with Choco Mucho (2-3) in the 2 p.m. opener while BanKo-Perlas (4-2) and BaliPure (2-3) tangle at 6 p.m.
Focus will be on Creamline which is coming off a 25-12, 25-22, 19-25, 25-18 triumph over Choco Mucho where skipper Alyssa Valdez sizzled for 25 points ,including 21 kills.
Offense remains the Cool Smashers’ main weapon as they lead the spiking department – thanks to the hot hands of Valdez, Michele Gumabao and Jema Galanza.
They are also expected to bank on their serves after firing 49 aces in their first six matches.
But Pacifictown Army aims to bounce back from back-to-back defeats against PetroGazz and Motolite after a 2-0 start.
Slated to banner Army’s comeback will be veteran hitters Royse Tubino, Jovelyn Gonzaga and Jem Gutierrez.
Currently leading in the digging department, the Lady Troopers hope to cover the floor with Gonzaga expected to team up with libero Angela Nunag.
Also out to sustain their momentum is BanKo-Perlas, which hopes to stretch their winning streak to three games.
Nicole Tiamzon and Dzi Gervacio will be the Perlas Spikers’ deadly combo as they face BaliPure’s own duo of Grazielle Bombita and Menchie Tubiera.
In the other pairing, PetroGazz seeks to follow up its 25-16, 25-20, 25-23 win over Air Force. (Kristel Satumbaga)
