An alleged leader of a criminal group listed as the most wanted person of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) was arrested Saturday in Tarlac City.
NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar identified the suspect as Art Cris Viloria, 24, of Barangay Tumana, Marikina City.
Eleazar said Viloria is NCRPO’s number one most wanted person.
Viloria was arrested on Saturday in Barangay San Vicente, Tarlac City at around 11:40 a.m.
“He is the leader of the group called Art Cris Viloria criminal group,” Eleazar bared.
Marikina City Police chief Col. Restituto Arcangel said the group was tagged in the series of robbery hold-up incidents and proliferation of illegal drugs in Marikina.
Arcangel furthered that Viloria was also involved in an armed encounter with police when he stole a motorcycle somewhere along Marcos Highway on August 21.
“After that, he [Viloria] then went into hiding, but through the effort of the SOU [Special Operations Unit], they were able to track him down in Tarlac,” Arcangel said.
Eleazar said Viloria has three arrest warrants for the violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Usurpation of Authority, and robbery with violence and intimidation.
Viloria was arrested by joint operatives of Marikina City Police Station Special Operations Unit, Regional Intelligence Unit and Tarlac City Police.
Arcangel said they are still hunting down the other members of Viloria’s group.
Viloria is currently detained at Marikina City Police custodial facility. (Jhon Casinas)
