GENERAL SANTOS CITY – A ranking police officer was found dead outside their house in Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat in an apparent case of suicide.
Police Major Julius Malcontento, Bagumbayan police chief, identified the victim as Police Major Kristian Ace Sularte, 35, assigned with the Regional Mobile Force Battalion of Police Regional Office-11.
He said the victim succumbed to a lone bullet wound on the chest borne by .9 mm caliber pistol.
Police recovered at the scene the .9mm service pistol of the victim which was used in the killing.
Investigation revealed that the victim shot himself inside his car parked outside their house in Barangay Poblacion at past 1 p.m. Friday.
Relatives said the victim was reportedly experiencing depression relative to work.
Police ruled out a possible foul play on the incident. (Joseph Jubelag)
