A leading motorcycle manufacturer in the country has emphasized the need for safe, innovative and environment-friendly bikes that will solve the mobility concerns of the rising number of Filipino riders, including female commuters.
Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) president Susumu Mitsuishi said their two latest motorcycle models — the All-New GENIO for female riders and the All-New AD150 for urban adventurers — were created to fit the needs of Filipino bikers
“These new models will add excitement to the joy of riding a Honda motorcycle. We are confident that our Filipino customers will appreciate the motorcycles we created because we made them with their dreams and aspirations in mind,” Mitsuishi said during the launch of the two units in Pasig City last Saturday.
During the event, Mitsuishi also introduced model and actress Yassi Pressman as the newest female brand ambassador of Honda Philippines, Inc.
“We chose Yassi Pressman because we believe that she personifies what the All-New GENIO is all about, cool and fashionable,” said Mitsuishi.
Yassi, leading lady of actor Coco Martin in ABS-CBN’s action teleserye “Ang Probinsyano,” said she was happy that Honda has chosen her at the face of the All-New GENIO.
“Kasi isa rin po akong rider, and it’s the perfect ride for the young at mga bagong riders natin who want to escape the morning rush. Kapag gabi na at sobrang haba ng pila at gusto na lang nating makauwi agad sa ating pamilya, this is the way to go,” Yassi said.
Appropriate for the body frame of a Filipina, the All-New GENIO is light-weight and easy to handle without compromising safety and comfort of ride.
Yassi said one of her favorite features of GENIO is its 14L U-box capacity that can carry essential things needed for work or travel.
“Isa pa sa pinaka-favorite ko is its power charger socket, kasi it really charges our phones na kailangan natin sa paghanap ng daan o para sabihin lang natin sa family na pauwi na tayo. Hindi tayo pwedeng ma-low bat,” she added.
The All-New GENIO is equipped with smart technology and enhanced smart power, LED headlight and a digital meter panel with ECO indicator as well as a secure key shutter with seat opener. It also has a front disc and rear mechanical drum braking system.
On the other hand, the unique design and features of the All-New ADV150 embody the preference of an individual who loves urban adventure, according to HPI officer Jayson Elises.
He said the one-of-a-kind feature of this model is its adjustable windscreen combined with a futuristic and manly design armed with latest features of smart technology.
It is also equipped with all-LED lighting system, full digital meter panel for clear riding information reading, power charger console box, 28L large utility box with seat stopper, naked handlebar and the smart key system.
Elises said the All-New ADV150 also has 14-inch front tire size and 13-inch rear tire size as well as twin sub-tank rear suspension for a more comfortable ride.
To ensure the safety of the rider, it has an emergency stop signal (ESS) which automatically blinks the hazard light when sudden stop occurs.
HPI announced that the GENIO (P72,900) will be available in December 2019 and the ADV150 (P149,000) in January 2020. (Emily G. Bugarin)
