The shallow low-pressure area east of the country remains less likely to develop into a tropical cyclone and may eventually dissipate in the next few days.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said the LPA will be inside the country’s area of responsibility yesterday. It is still too far to affect the country but it will likely dissipate in the coming days.
So far, the northeasterly surface wind flow will be the dominant weather system that will prevail over Northern Luzon.
Cloudy skies with rain showers and isolated thunderstorms will be felt in Batanes, Isabela, and Cagayan, including Babuyan Group of Islands.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Generally fair weather condition will prevail today, particularly in the morning, Bulquerin said.
However, he advised the public to remain alert for possible flash floods in low-lying areas and landslides over mountainous areas, especially during severe thunderstorms. (Ellalyn Ruiz)
