The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is eyeing the involvement of Metro Manila’s notorious “Drug Queen” in the death of some of the “ninja cops” who were tagged to be her protectors in the recycling and distribution of shabu in the metropolis and nearby provinces.
NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said eight of the slain ninja cops in their records were reported to have been killed by unidentified gunmen, most of them were motorcycle-riding assassins.
“We have been conducting investigation to determine if she has something to do with the death of some of these ninja cops’ deaths which we believe could be a form of purging to erase the trail leading to her,” said Eleazar.
He identified the so-called Metro Manila “Drug Queen” as Guia Gomez Castro, a barangay chairperson in Sampaloc District, Manila. Her husband, who also used to be the head of the same barangay, is also in the watchlist of the NCRPO.
Castro, according to Eleazar, was the same “Drug Queen” being referred to by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron Aquino. Allegedly included in her illegal drugs operations is to buy and re-distribute illegal drugs being confiscated in police operations.
Eleazar said Castro had already left the country and was replaced as a chairwoman of a barangay in Sampaloc in July 2018.
Castro easily left the country because no cases was filed against her. But he said the long arm of the law would eventually catch up on her.
Asked of her whereabouts, Eleazar said the intelligence reports indicated that she could be in Canada.
DEATH TIMELINE
Based on the link diagram disclosed by the NCRPO, there were 16 ninja cops who allegedly worked for Castro during their peak of operations. Nine of them were killed.
One of the slain cops was killed in 2012.
Based on the police records, some of the ninja cops were killed after the arrest of Police Corporal Jolly Allangan who yielded P8 million cash during the operation in Manila in May 2016, or a month before President Duterte assumed the top post of the land.
Allangan is one of the 16 cops tagged as Castro’s police protector.
Two months after Allangan’s arrest, a police officer with a rank of captain and was tagged to be connected with the “Drug Queen” was killed in a police operation.
In October 2016, a policewoman was gunned down by an assassin in October 2016. She, too, was tagged as protector of Castro.
In February 2017, another cop with links to the “Drug Queen” was killed by motorcycle-riding assassins while last year, four of her alleged protectors were also executed.
Two of the ninja cops already retired, two were dismissed from the service that include the brother of the “Drug Queen”, one is currently under detention while another one went on AWOL (Absent Without Official Leave). (Aaron Recuenco)
