BACOLOD CITY – A volunteer firefighter was praised online after he saved a puppy which was electrocuted in a fire that razed a house in Barangay Alijis here over the weekend.
Albert Mendoza, a member of the Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade here, did not hesitate to resuscitate the puppy which was unconscious for a few minutes.
Mendoza did the resuscitation for three minutes until the puppy gained consciousness.
He said that he tried his best to save the puppy while helping put out the fire as he also has dogs at home.
Netizens congratulated him for a job well done and his kindness.
Mendoza, in a Facebook post, said he felt good knowing that many people appreciated his gesture to help save the life of a puppy.
“I’m a dog lover and a firefighter who turned superhero to a loving puppy,” he said. (Glazyl Masculino)
