The United States government has granted the request of the Philippines to cancel the visa of former barangay chairwoman Guia Gomez Castro who has been tagged as the “drug queen” in cahoots with “ninja cops”.
“Upon the request of the Department of Justice, the US visa granted to alleged drug queen Guia Castro has been cancelled,” Department of Justice (DoJ) spokesman and Undersecretary Markk Perete told reporters on Wednesday.
“The BI (Bureau of Immigration) is now working with US immigration authorities to effect her deportation to the Philippines,” he added.
The US acted after Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra issued last Friday an immigration lookout bulletin order (ILBO) against Castro.
In his order addressed to Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Jaime Morente and Prosecutor General Benedicto Malcontento, Guevarra said he placed her in the ILBO “to monitor her flight itineraries and/or whereabouts abroad” due to “the strong possibility that the above-mentioned individual may place herself beyond the reach of the legal process of this Department and frustrate the ends of justice.”
Castro has been issued arrest warrants by various courts where she is facing multiple charges.
Despite this, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) already confirmed that Castro managed to leave the Philippines last September 21.
The PNP recently disclosed that Castro has been in cahoots with “ninja cops” or policemen recycling illegal drugs seized from legitimate anti-narcotics operations. (Jeffrey Damicog)
