COTABATO CITY – The Regional Highway Patrol Unit in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao has recovered an allegedly stolen vehicle from the possession of the incumbent deputy police chief of Marawi City.
An online post of the Notre Dame Broadcasting Corp. here last Tuesday said that Col. Hesran Mojica, RHPU-BARMM director, reported last Monday that a white Ford Everest has been found in the possession of Police Capt. Santos Monares.
The Sports Utility Vehicle has been impounded.
Mojica said Monares asserted that he purchased the car from a police captain assigned to the Philippine National Police Regional Office 10 based in Cagayan de Oro City.
But Mojica argued that the recovered SUV was stolen from the original owner residing in Sta. Ana, Manila. “It (car) was reported as stolen,” Mojica said.
He said a criminal case would be filed against Monares at the Office of the City Prosecutor in Marawi City. (Ali G. Macabalang)
