Malacañang is counting on authorities to probe the fire that gutted the Star City amusement park while hoping for the swift recovery of those affected.
Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar made the statement after expressing sadness over the park blaze last Wednesday and its impact on the employees.
“It is a sad day for broadcasting as the recent fire in Star City has badly damaged the office of the Manila Broadcasting Company and has affected the operations of DZRH, the oldest radio station in the country. We at the PCOO are equally saddened by how this will affect the employees of the MBC and the theme park,” Andanar said.
“We trust that the authorities will work hard to determine the cause of the fire,” he added.
Andanar also called on concerned government agencies to extend any form of assistance to those affected by the fire.
“We look forward to DZRH going back on-air as soon as possible and to the recovery of everyone affected,” he added.
The massive fire at Star City in Pasay City destroyed its Snow World structure and several indoor rides. The building that houses DZRH was also affected by the fire.
There was no report of any casualty. Investigators are reportedly looking at arson and electrical problem as possible causes of the fire. (Genalyn Kabiling)
