The low-pressure area east of Aurora will bring cloudy skies and scattered showers over most parts of Luzon this weekend, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said yesterday.
PAGASA said the LPA was spotted 710 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora yesterday morning and is expected to make landfall in Northern Luzon today.
PAGASA weather specialist Ana Clauren said that the LPA is still unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone and may just dissipate after hitting land.
Prior to its landfall, the weather disturbance will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Camarines provinces, Aurora, Quezon, and Catanduanes.
The State weather agency warned residents that flash floods or landslides may occur due to occasional heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA continues to monitor another LPA outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. PAGASA said it has no effect on any part of the country yet. (Alexandria San Juan)
