A 29-year-old man was shot to death when he tried to pacify a fight during a wake in Tondo, Manila last Friday.
Police identified the victim as Raymond Villanueva, driver, resident of Tondo.
On the other hand, the suspect was only identified as a certain “Monti Daguman.”
He was taken to the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center in Manila where he was declared dead on arrival for multiple bullet wounds.
Case prober Police Staff Sergeant Marlon San Pedro said Villanueva was trying to stop a fight between two residents during a wake on Yuseco St. around 2: 55 a.m.
Police said the two men did not stop fighting despite being pacified by Villanueva.
Moments after, the suspect boarded his motorcycle and glared at Villanueva.
He returned to the wake onboard his motorcycle and shot Villanueva.
The suspect fled towards an unknown direction, police added.
Follow-up investigation is now underway to apprehend the suspect and establish the motive behind the killing. (Erma Edera)
