GENERAL SANTOS CITY – A police intelligence officer was shot dead Friday night by motorcycle-riding suspects before his terrified children who were injured during the attack here.
Police Col. Aden Lagradante, city police director, identified the victim as Police Master Sgt. Manuel Coronado, 38, assigned as chief of the intelligence section of Police Station 4 in this city.
Investigators said the victim was driving his car with his three children aboard when waylaid by the suspects in Barangay San Isidro past 9 p.m.
The victim succumbed to multiple bullet wounds in the body borne by a .45 caliber pistol.
The victim’s three children, Hannah Shane, 13; Manuel Jr., 15, and Joshen Manuel, 8, were hurt during the attack.
Lagrandante condemned the attack on Coronado who had greatly contributed to the anti-drug and criminality campaign launched by the local police. (Joseph Jubelag)
