A newly appointed team leader of the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau was gunned down yesterday in Binondo, Manila.
Police identified the victim as Marlon Lacsina, 32, married, of Baseco, Port Area, Manila.
According to Ferdie Castillo, 24, parking attendant, co-worker of the victim, he and Lacsina had just alighted from a motorcycle when an unidentified man approached them and shot Locsina at around 12:30 a.m. on Recto Ave. corner Elcano St.
The suspect boarded a motorcycle driven by another unidentified man and escaped towards Elcano St.
He was rushed to the Jose Abad Santos Hospital in Manila where he was declared dead for bullet wounds in the left chin and right chest.
It was learned that the victim received death threats when he was assigned as the new leader of MTPB parking attendants in Binondo.
Recovered from the crime scene were three fired cartridges of a caliber. 45 pistol.
The victim’s body was taken to the Funeraria Cruz in Manila for autopsy and safekeeping.
Follow-up investigation is now underway to apprehend and identify the suspects. (Erma Edera)
