A couple was gunned down inside their house in Muntinlupa City yesterday.
Police identified the victims as Jerry Carino Sr., 47, and his live-in partner, Meldy Amparo, 41.
Authorities are looking at the possibility that the killing was drug-related as several sachets of suspected shabu were recovered from the crime scene.
Neighbors of the victims added that the victims had just moved to the area.
The incident happened at Bautista Compound in Barangay Alabang around 1:15 a.m.
Undetermined number of gunmen barged into the victims’ house and peppered them with bullets.
Police said that after hearing some eight successive gunshots, a certain “Maribel,” neighbor of the victims, immediately rushed to the scene.
Upon checking, she saw the bodies of the victims bathed in blood, prompting her to seek police assistance.
Recovered from the crime scene were three fired cartridge cases of caliber .45; three fired cartridge cases of caliber .99; two fired cartridges of super .38 caliber; and one fired bullet of caliber .45.
Also recovered were one small transparent plastic bag containing five plastic sachets with traces of suspected shabu and other drug paraphernalia. (Joseph Pedrajas)
