The Department of Health said yesterday that all public hospitals will be on Code White alert in preparation for any possible emergencies that may happen during the annual observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days tomorrow and Saturday.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said that the Code White alert would ensure the readiness of the medical staff to respond to any emergency situations.
Duque reminded the public to be mindful of their health as they visit their departed loved ones in the cemeteries.
He advised them to bring their own water and food to avoid dehydration and food borne-diseases.
Duque also added that the food should be well-prepared and stored properly to avoid contamination. If the food is contaminated, it may result in food poisoning, he said.
The Health chief added that it is also advisable not to bring infants and the elderly to cemeteries as they are prone to dehydration and other diseases.
