The northeast monsoon or “amihan” and a low-pressure area will be the dominant weather systems in the country during the observance of the All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration spotted the LPA at 460 kilometers east of Davao City as of yesterday morning.
The LPA will likely bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao region, and Caraga region.
PAGASA warned of possible flash floods over low-lying areas or landslides over mountainous regions.
Aurora, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino will have occasional light rains while the rest of Northern and Central Luzon, including Metro Manila, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains today until Sunday due to the southward migration of amihan.
Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms are also likely in these areas.
The State weather bureau said Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be cloudy with scattered to widespread rain showers and thunderstorms during the forecast period due to the expected approach of the LPA over Mindanao. (Ellalyn V. Ruiz)
