About 600 policemen will be deployed to enforce tightened security for the 2019 Bar Examinations which will be held on all four Sundays of November at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila.
With the huge influx of examinees that will also be supported by their families and friends, the Manila Police District said they expect criminal activities to take advantage of the situation.
The Supreme Court has asked the city government of Manila’s support, especially in enforcing tighter security, deploying ambulances and first responders, and imposing liquor ban in all business establishments around UST.
The MPD said they would establish advance command post and emergency lanes around the area.
MPD chief Police Brig. Gen Bernabe Balba assured the examinees that they would “step up their security to provide a conducive environment for the future lawyers to take the examination without worry of any disruption.”
MPD reminded the motorists that a stop-and-go traffic scheme will be observed on P. Noval St., Dapitan St., A.H. Lacson Ave. (formerly Gov. Forbes), and Espana Boulevard from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m.
It will again be implemented at 5 p.m. onwards to ensure smooth flow of traffic within the vicinity as the examinees leave UST.
Parking is strictly prohibited on the streets on EspaƱa Boulevard, A.H. Lacson Ave., Dapitan St., and P. Noval St.
