Police arrested Tuesday an Indian and his Filipino cohort after they yielded more than P120,000 worth of shabu and two unlicensed revolvers during an entrapment in Quezon City.
Arrested in a joint drug sting of Quezon City Police District’s Batasan Police (PS-6) and Eastwood Police (PS-12) Stations were Gurpreet Singh, 40, a cellphone technician residing in Barangay Holy Spirit, and his companion Jojo Devera, 32, of Barangay Pasong Tamo.
Lt. Col. Romulus Gadaoni, PS-6 commander, said the duo were placed under surveillance for months after anti-drug operatives of PS-12 received information on their illegal drug activities in Barangay Bagumbayan.
During the monitoring, it appears that the suspects were also peddling illegal drugs in other villages in the city, prompting officers to conduct a sting against them.
Combined Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) operatives of PS-6 and PS-12 transacted with the two men on Dalton Street in Barangay Holy Spirit, which led to their arrest.
Police seized from the suspects at least 18 grams of shabu amounting to P122,400, two .38-caliber handguns, ammunition, and a digital weighing scale.
The suspects are now under police custody and will be charged with possession illegal drugs and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. (Alexandria San Juan)
