Police arrested a 44-year-old man for possession of illegal drugs in Quezon City Wednesday after his mother informed the authorities about his alleged illegal drug activities.
Acting Quezon City Police District director Colonel Ronnie Montejo identified the suspect as alias Tonyo of Novaliches, Quezon City.
Montejo said Tonyo was nabbed after the Novaliches Police Station (PS-4) received a text message from the suspect’s mother reporting his son’s illegal drug activities.
Members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Novaliches Police Station apprehended the suspect at around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Responding policemen seized two sachets of suspected shabu, aluminum foil strips with traces of suspected shabu, a disposable lighter, and a cellular phone from the suspect.
The mother, whom the police did not identify, told probers that her son has been in and out of a drug rehabilitation center.
Alvarez got hooked on illegal drugs again recently, prompting his mother to call the cops for assistance, police said.
