Police on Friday filed a murder case against at least three people, including a cop, tagged in the killing of local radio anchor in Dumaguete City last Thursday.
Police Brig. Gen. Val de Leon, director of the Central Visayas police, said they are now conducting a massive manhunt against a policemen assigned in Negros Oriental who is tagged as the triggerman in the assassination of Dindo Generoso.
Generoso was shot dead while on his way to his morning program at the dyEM in Dumaguete City. He sustained multiple bullet wounds.
Less than 12 hours after the attack, two suspects were arrested, identified as Teddy Reyes Salaw, 44; and, Glenn Corsame, a retired policeman.
The gunman was identified as Police Corporal Roger Rubio, a member of the 1st Police Mobile Force Company of the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office.
“The Dumaguete police are now preparing the needed documents for filing of murder case against the suspects. Rubio is now a subject of massive manhunt operation,” said De Leon.
De Leon said they have yet to determine the motive behind the killing since the two arrested suspects would not talk.
“The focus now of the ongoing investigation is to identify the mastermind. And believe me, we will get the culprit to justice,” said De Leon.
Generoso is a blocktimer for the local radio station and his program is sponsored by the city government as part of its public information service extension.
He ran in the 2016 mayoral race in Dumaguete City but was declared a nuisance candidate. (Aaron Recuenco)
