Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has threatened to sack cops who are still instructing some groups to extort money from vendors in the city.
The mayor issued his warning after he discovered that some police officers were allegedly ordering “organizers” to mulct money from vendors.
Domagoso said these cops would be ashamed to walk along the streets once he fully reveals their identities and their involvement in illegal activities.
“You will never ever want to be alive again because of all the shame that you will receive, you will get it. Ibo-boost ko pa kayo, makita ninyo. Mapang-abuso kayo, ayaw ninyo magtino,” Domagoso said.
He urged the policemen, who still are trying to defy his directive against illegal vendors, to change their ways.
Domagoso earlier bared that he was informed that some groups were still collecting bribe money from Divisoria vendors for assurance that they could sell on streets this upcoming holiday season.
He maintained that his policy on street and sidewalk vendors since he assumed office remains the same.
The mayor said he will “move the heaven and earth” to identify the cops involved in unlawful acts.
“ Hindi kayo makuha ah. Binibigyan ko kayo ng glow para kuminang ang mga chapa niyo, kayo ang dumudungis,” the mayor said. “Hindi n’yo ako mato-tolongges. Oh ngayon, lahat ng pulis, lahat, General (Bernabe) Balba, inaabisuhan kita. PO1, inaabisuhan kita. Lahat kayo makikita niyo ang hinahanap niyo,” he further said
He also said that he would not hesitate to humiliate the cops who are tainting the image of Manila.
“Mapang-api kayo ng maliliit. Mapang-abuso kayo ng uniporme ninyo. Nagtitino ang mga taga City Hall, palibhasa ano kayo, ano kayo, national government? Anong national national government? Subukan ninyo,” Domagoso said. (with a report from Joseph Pedrajas)
