STA MARIA, Bulacan — Four alleged online sellers of stolen motorcycles were arrested during police operations in Barangays Poblacion and San Vicente, this town, last Tuesday.
Colonel Chito G. Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, identified the arrested suspects as Jubert Relampago Rosales alias Ivan Silliave, 26; Ronaldo Ylanan Araneta, 32; Jonas Ylanan Araneta, 21; and Jerico del Rosario Parayray, 25.
Lt. Col. Carl Omar Fiel, Sta Maria police chief, said they launched an entrapment operation after receiving a report about a Honda RS125, which was stolen on Nov. 6 in Barangay Pulong Buhangin, being sold via Facebook.
During the operation, an undercover agent was able to buy from alias Ivan Silliave the said motorcycle for P10,000. This resulted in the suspect’s arrest and the recovery of the motorcycle.
In a follow-up operation in Brgy. San Vicente, police seized eight more undocumented motorcycles from the Aranetas and Parayray.
Probers learned that one of the recovered motorcycle, a yellow Yamaha Mio Sporty with MV File No. 030100000754760, was reported missing on October 22, 2019.
Police are still verifying the owners of the seven other recovered motorcycles.
The suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 10883 (New Anti-Carnapping Law) and PD 1612 (Anti Fencing Law) before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor’s of Malolos, according to police. (Freddie C. Velez)
