BACOLOD CITY – An infant, who was allegedly abducted by an unidentified woman last Monday here, was safely returned to his parents on Tuesday.
Police Major Jovil Sedel, head of the Police Station 1, this city, said the suspect, who was later identified as 23-year-old Angelie Gonzales, reportedly brought baby boy William Goto to her mother’s residence in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, a day after the abduction happened.
The suspect’s mother informed her two daughters residing here that their younger sister brought a baby to their house.
Gonzales’ sisters then went to their mother’s house, took the child, and turned over the baby to his parents at the police station around 10:45 p.m.
The abduction happened when Gonzales pretended to be a relative of the child’s mother, Mary Grace, and encouraged her to have a hair treatment at a salon where she left her.
Sedel said the suspect, who was reportedly suffering from nervous breakdown after she had miscarriage four months ago, is still at large.
He said the child’s family has yet to decide on the filing of kidnapping charges against Gonzales. (Glazyl Masculino)
