CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, Imus City, Cavite – A farmer was gunned down in a pineapple plantation in Rodeo Hills Subdivision, Barangay Buck Estate, Alfonso, this province, Wednesday.
The Cavite Police Provincial Office identified the victim as Senando Villela Hernandez, also the plantation caretaker.
Initial police investigation showed that four gunshots were heard as Hernandez was cutting grass at the plantation.
Neighbors went to check and found Hernandez’s body sprawled on pineapple plants.
Relatives brought Hernandez to the hospital where he died from a bullet wound in the neck.
Police Col. Marlon R. Santos, Cavite PPO chief, has ordered the local police to conduct a thorough investigation on the incident.
It was the first fatal shooting reported under the watch of Santos who was assigned to Cavite last Monday. (Anthony Giron)
