Rep. Mikee Romero is still upbeat of competing in the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games despite suffering a bad fall during the national polo team’s recent training in Argentina.
Romero, who is seeing action for the first time in the biennial meet, said that he is recovering well.
“I’m alive… don’t worry,” texted Romero in jest. “I’ll see Dr. (Raul) Canlas, but I’m OK and I was able to walk.”
Romero said he would continue with his sessions with a physical therapist, who worked him up after he was thrown off his horse that left him unable to walk for two straight days.
The founding member of the Philippine National Federation of Polo Players who arrived Manila Wednesday night, said the incident happened on the 8th day of their training in Buenos Aires.
He said he hardly walked straight for two days due to the injury.
“But I am now OK,” said Romero.
Drawing of lots for the polo competition will be during the welcome dinner scheduled Nov. 23 while action kicks off Nov. 24 at the Miguel Romero Field in Calatagan, Batangas.
