Police arrested Monday night three Chinese nationals after they allegedly tried to kidnap their compatriot in Pasay City.
Police said the suspects – Wang Jun, 29; Li Gen, 32 and He Xiang, 29 – were apprehended after skyway officers caught them mauling Zhou Zheng Qiang, 26, whom they tried to kidnap.
Investigation showed that Wang was driving a Chevrolet (TOJ 216) along the westbound lane of Toll Plaza Skyway in front of NAIA Terminal 3 around 8:15 p.m. when a skyway officer flagged him down.
Police said that Wang was called out for not wearing a seatbelt.
The officers then saw Li and He beating Zhou inside the vehicle.
Arresting officers from Pasay police immediately went to the scene and were informed by Zhou that the suspects tried to kidnap him.
Police said that investigation on the case is still ongoing. (Joseph Pedrajas)
