President Duterte spent quality time with his family before heading to South Korea to attend a regional summit this week.
The President attended the baptism of his first great-grandson and namesake Rodrigo “Tres” Duterte III last Saturday, according to Sen. Christopher Go.
The senator shared photos of the President kissing his five-month-old great grandson while attending the christening affair along with family members and friends. Also present at the event was Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte, the grandfather of Tres.
Rodrigo III, born last June, is the latest addition to the First Family. He is the son of the President’s grandson Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II and partner Yssa Labrador.
Meanwhile, the President will attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations-Republic of Korea commemorative summit in Busan, South Korea from Nov. 25 to 26.
Duterte is scheduled to depart Davao City last night for his flight to Korea. He is expected to hold bilateral talks with South Korean President Moon Jae-in on the sidelines of the summit. The two leaders are expected to witness the signing of four cooperation agreements on social security, education, fisheries, and tourism.
This will be the President’s second visit to the Republic of Korea since assuming office and his first time to visit Busan. The President visited Seoul in June 2018. (Genalyn Kabiling)
