The local government of Pasay City has ordered the city police to conduct an investigation into the alleged abduction cases which are circulating online.
On Monday, a certain Rusty Sablada posted on Facebook at least eight photos of teenagers who allegedly went missing in Pasay City.
Sablada also posted a closed-circuit television footage (CCTV) showing what appeared to be two men bringing another man inside a van. He said, the video was taken at the corner of Humilidad St. and F.B. Harrison St.
In a statement Monday, Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said she is ordering the police to investigate the alleged abductions.
“We want these resolved immediately to ease the anxiety and uncertainty of their relatives,” she added.
Rubiano reminded residents to be careful and avoid risks.
“The Philippine National Police is on top of the situation, and I am confident that they have the resources and manpower to solve these crimes,” she said.
Lt. Col. Deanry Francisco, Pasay City Assistant Chief of Police for Administration (ACOPA), said they have not received so far any abduction reports or anyone who is missing.
However, Pasay City Police chief Col. Bernard Yang assured that they would act on the matter just the same.
“Col. Yang said that he already ordered his men to prioritize the investigation of the alleged abduction of children in Pasay City,” the city public information office said. (Joseph Pedrajas)
