Justice Secretary Menardo I. Guevarra said yesterday President Duterte has appointed 17 new prosecutors to fill up the vacancies in the National Prosecution Service of the Department of Justice.
At the same time, Guevarra said the President also appointed a regional public attorney in the Public Attorney’s Office and a deputy in the Office of the Government Corporate Counsel.
Both PAO and OGCC are agencies under the DoJ.
The new prosecutors and their area of assignments in the NPS are:
Ruby Jane Sintin Pena, associate provincial prosecutor, South Cotabato; Lilian I. Sahiron Juljani, associate city prosecutor, Zamboanga City; Sharina I. Tahir Kanni, associate city prosecutor, Zamboanga City; Shergine Causing The, associate city prosecutor; Zambaonga City; Lynette Atilano Lacandalo, associate city prosecutor, Zamboanga City;
Joan Farah Pader Ramos, associate provincial prosecutor, Ilocos Norte; Marie Crystal May C. Vega dela Serna, deputy city prosecutor, Talisay City; Charlie Lim Yap, deputy city prosecutor, Olongapo City; Anthony Rona Benamer Cruz, assistant city prosecutor, Ulric Quintan Badiola, assistant city prosecutor; Ronnel Sambu Castro, senior assistant city prosecutor;
Emily Gilos Merced, assistant city prosecutor; Mark Anthony Malgapo Nuguit, senior assistant city prosecutor; Susan Tadong Villanueva, senior assistant city prosecutor; Ravi Rose Siasat Cristobal, assistant city prosecutor; Gina Amatong Bedana, assistant city prosecutor; and Christine Francisco Lorenzo, assistant city prosecutor.
Suseyline M. Bakino Abtarul was appointed PAO regional public attorney while Marilyun Gargantiel Estaris was appointed deputy government corporate counsel.
Earlier, Guevarra said the DoJ needs “something like a thousand more prosecutors” to fill up vacant posts in the NPS. “We’re continuously screening applicants and there are about 500 nominations already with the Office of the President,” he said. (Rey Panaligan)
