President Duterte yesterday lauded government agencies for their response to the effects of typhoon “Tisoy.”
Duterte made the statement as he led the situation briefing on the effects of the latest typhoon in Legazpi City, Albay.
In his remarks, Duterte congratulated the government agencies involved for a job well done and lauded how he had a good team helping him run the country.
“I congratulate you for a job well done,” he said. “I have a good team dito sa gobyerno. I can assure you that they are good, they are not corrupt, and they are well-versed,” he added.
The President said he was mostly satisfied because the government agencies already knew what to do even before the typhoon entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Nov. 30.
“Apparently the government agencies knew what to do before the typhoon hit, its landfall, what to do during the entire crisis, and after. So, I am more than satisfied with the response,” Duterte said. “I do not have to give any critic because I said everything, or everyone, knew what to do before, during, and after. I’m more than satisfied with the performance of government,” he added.
During the situation briefing, Office of Civil Defense Administrator Undersecretary Ricardo Jalad said Tisoy caused P2.6-billion worth of damages and claimed the lives of 13 individuals.
Duterte urged the government agencies concerned to immediately submit their reports so the government can give them the budget they needed to address the damages caused by the typhoon. (Argyll Geducos)
